Looking for host families! Up with People will be in the area from the 18th - 25th of September. 100 young international volunteers willing to spark communities into action will be spending the week in the local area. One part of the Up with People program is complete immersion into different cultures that they visit throughout their World Tour. The only way this is possible is through host families; a family who opens their home to one or more of the 15 different nationalities that are in the cast of Up with People. Being a host family is a great intercultural experience, and it's easy and FUN! The only things a host family need to provide are: - A bed or sleeping surface - Breakfast and most dinners - Local, limited transportation within Portsmouth (in the morning around 8 AM and in the evenings around 6 PM at either New Heights or Portsmouth High School) For more information on how you can bring the world into your home, please contact: Johnae Tucker at 720.341.1592 or jtucker@upwithpeople.org Show Info The group of 100 international young adults representing 15 countries and 23 states will be here from September 18 - 25. They will be volunteering at places like the Edgewood Centre, Cross Roads House and Chase Home. On September 22 and 23, they will all perform a show which all proceeds will benefit New Heights. They will perform pop medleys from the past 50 years, international songs and dances and vibrant costumes, and sing original Up with People songs which share a message of hope and peace as we aim to spark communities into action. It's a show you don't want to miss, and it's going to a great LOCAL cause!! For more information, check out their event page: Up with People presents The Journey in Portsmouth, NH. Tickets are available NOW at upwithpeople.org/Portsmouth and they are selling FAST! Hope to see you there!
